I'm having problems with my internet explorer. I enter an addres in the address bar & click go, then as soon as the page loads I get an error box that says "an unexpected error has occured and explorer needs to close" I have the google search bar and if I type a webpage in there & then click on the link that google gives me the page runs just fine. I can open pages from my favorites or click on a link on a webpage. The problem is just with the address bar. I've run AVG, Norton & Ad-Aware & the all come up clean. TIA in advance for anyone who can help!

Click IE’s View menu, Toolbars, and deselect the Google Toolbar. See if that solves the problem.

I've had google on there for about 6 months and this problem just started. I tried deselecting google & then I tried selecting & deselecting yahoo and neither of those helped. Both have been on there since before the new year. This problem started about a week ago. I haven't loaded anything on there. Thanks.

Yes he does. He also has the msn bar, but I have mine disabled. I tried enabling it and that didn't help.

    Reset Your Web Settings:

    Open Internet Explorer

On the Tools menu choose Internet Options

    Click on the Programs tab

Click on the Reset Web Settings... button

Also, make sure IE is your default browser.

Ok, so I'm gonna blame sleep deprivation...when I tried that I forgot I was still on my husband's profile...I just tried it on mine & no such luck...I still got the same message.

Thanks, that how I feel about home. Right now we're in Germany, then to Az in a few months for 6 months, then to Ft. Campbell.

I am not sure, running out of ideas.

Unless you get some other suggestions, you might consider uninstalling those other toolbars and see if that solves it. Sometimes they can cause problems just out of the blue. You can usually reinstall them and be fine.

Maybe there will be some other ideas.

That's alot of moving. You will probably be glad to get back to the states. :)

I completely forgot about kellys-korner. Go to the link below and scroll down to #229 (Set IE Search to Default) and run it.

To use the Regedits: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it and answer yes to the import prompt.
