Internet Explorer keeps shutting down on me!

On my work laptop, we use NetZero to access the internet while we're on the road for business. The NetZero software was just installed on my laptop today, and that's the only major difference I can think of that may be causing this problem.

Sometimes when I try to close an IE6 window, it freezes and then gives me an error message saying that it encountered an error and must shut down (and gives me the option of sending a report to Microsoft). This is driving me crazy. I was also working with Dreamweaver earlier this evening and noticed that it would freeze up whenever I tried to insert a table into a web page I was creating. I don't know if that's related to my other problem.

I am running XP Pro and have Service Pack 1 installed. I have Pentium 4 and have 2533 MHz (getting this info from AIDA32, which I just downloaded).

I have updated my Norton virus definitions and did a full scan, as well as AdAware, SpyBot S&D, CW Shredder, and have not noticed anything suspicious on my Hijack This log.

This is a fairly new computer so I really want to figure out what the problem is. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, it could be netzero putting some stuff into your computer that it didn't like. Try uninstalling it and see what happens.

oh, and have you tried using dial-up networking (that's built into windows) to connect to netzero? I don't know if that works, but it's a great way to get around the software if dial-up networking does work.
