Shutdown all components of Symantec that your system allows you to shutdown. Then continue with the below.

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Make sure to tell me if a success message is received!

Now attach new logs from GetRunKey and HijackThis!

Right click on items for it in the system tray and see if there is an option to exit or shutdown ....etc. Also run Task Manager (CTRL-SHIFT-ESC) and select the Processes tab. Locate things for Symantec and right click on them and select End Process. Shutdown anything you can. Somethings will not shutdown or will just restart as soon as shutdown because they are services. Just do what you can and then continue.

Okay that last patch remove what we were trying to remove.

    How are things working now?

If everything is okay then enable Windows Defender and UAC now.

You can remove anything your put into Quarantine. Make sure that you now have Windows Defender and UAC enabled.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
      • Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    2. If we used ComboFix, you can delete the ComboFix.exe file, C:\ComboFix folder, C:\QooBox folder, C:\WINDOWS\nircmd.exe, and the C:\combofix.txt log that was created.
    3. If we user SDFix you can delete all the SDFix related files and folders from your Desktop or whereever you installed it.
    4. If we used SmitFraudFix, you can delete all files and folders related to it now including the c:\rapport.txt log.
    5. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    6. If we had your run FixWareOut, you can delete the Fixwareout.exe file and the C:\fixwareout folder.
    7. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    8. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    9. You can delete the ShowNew.Zip and GetRunkey.Zip files and the files that you extracted from the ZIP files. You can also delete the C:\newfiles.txt and C:\runkeys.txt logs that were created
    10. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • go back to step 8 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    11. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Just delete any left over folders from Sunbelt Software and that will remove the Quarantine. You will have to search to find out if there are any left. The uninstall may have removed them.

Not necesssary but you can do that if you like. Just remember it also allows malware to hide from you.

No! You deleted an old version. You already had the current version.

    Yes!

You just follow the directions given which said Disable, Reboot, Enable. That's it.

This has nothing to due with malware and in the READ ME we even said Do not run any other tabs from CCleaner. Using the Issues tab in older Windows OS's seem to work okay but I have no experience with using it in Vista and would not recommend it. This is a topic for the Software Forum if you wish to discuss it further. Either way if you plan on doing this or you plan on using some other registry cleaning tool, always make a backup before fixing anything.

If you wish to you can, but it does not hurt you to keep it since it is so small and only runs when you run it.

Not malware, your logs were clean.

I'm not sure what your last question was exactly saying but normal mode is the normal mode you should be running in.

Why are you posting this? It is not a log we want to look at. It is not a malware scanner/detection program and has nothing to do with this forum. Also I don't even recommend using that program.

In addition this has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. I suggest you start a thread in the Software Forum if you want to discuss Registry Booster or startup programs.
