internet explorer POOFED!!!!!

    Help. my internet explorer icon disappeared before my eyes, its gone from my desktop and my start up menu and now i cant get access the program. I have tried to download version 7 but i keep getting a message ''not a win approved program...... What the hell is going on,,,,,, HELP

    Start then run and type in iexplore.exe

    To put it back on the desktop, search for iexplore.exe and right click it and choose create shortcut. You'll probably be told you can't place a shortcut where you have clicked and it will say it will be placed on the desktop.

    Thanks for the advice. However I discovered that 2 of the IE files were corrupt, so I ended up downloading version 7. Im a total novice but thru trial and error, im learning ..lol Thanks again..

    So, did you remove the old version first? Just curious because of upgrade issues I had with FF. Anyway, now make sure to use the tweaks to make IE faster. Internet Explorer is very slow out of the box, compared to Firefox.

    Hi Vagabond, Losing IE was just the beginning of my problems, my whole system ended up crashing. So a reformat was called for, still with a few bugs I managed to iron pit. (More good luck than management and the reading of many forums) LOL. Thanks for the tips on speeding up IE, tried it and its brilliant. Many thanks. :wave
