Internet Explorer Problem

New Sony Vaio laptop running Vista. I have been setting up a D-Link wireless router to use with my old XP desktop and the Sony. For a while I thought there was a fault with the router such as a firewall conflict but I now think there is something wrong with the copy of Internet Explorer on the laptop. Any page I try to load I get an error message:
403 Forbidden
You were denied access because:
Access denied by access control list
MSN Messenger works OK and I have installed Firefox by CD and that also works fine. I would like to uninstall IE and try again but it does not appear on the uninstall list. Any thoughts?

 

It's OK, I've found the problem. It was in Internet Options. It was set to use a proxy server on LAN connections. Unchecked that and I'm now cooking on gas.:cool
