Internet Explorer problem

I just installed Verizon DSL in my computer. I am now having problems with my Internet Explorer. I show that I am connected to the internet, but my browser will not open. Thanks for any help.

 

Download IEFix 1.5 and save to your desktop. After you have completed download, extract the contents to your desktop.

Before you run the utility can you elaborate on your problem a little please. Does IE come up? Any errors?

 

I even changed from DSL connection to cable and still getting same problem. I reloaded Win XP, no help. I don't get any error messages. The browser opens but all I get is "Page can not be displayed". Thanks for the help.

Thanks for your help. I ran the fixes you suggested. Nothing worked. I finally figured if out to be Norton Internet Security 2003. I don't know why that would cause web pages not to load, any ideas. Thanks.

 

Ahh, NIS is like that, it causes many problems thats why I no longer support Symantec programs. Personally I would ditch NIS and use ZoneAlarm with AVG Antivirus for protection. If you keep NIS I would recommend updating to the latest version.

NIS has many problems, this being one of them.

 

Check your settings in NIS 2003. Some kind of blocking feature is causing it, try disabling certain ad, spam, or pop-up blockers/functions.
