Internet Explorer trouble

Hey guys, I'm (well, my wife is) having trouble with IE. I am running windows XP. If I log on under my screen name, I can use IE no probem. When my wife logs in under her name and opens IE, it crashes (closes down as soon as it opens) instantly. I use AVG antivirus software, updated it today and performed a scan. It found 3 viruses and deleted them. I have no idea what the viruses were. Any suggestions? TIA! Scott

I can not run this program. I just realized IE crashes on my login as well. The difference is, on my wifes, it crashes before it fully opens. I think her home page is MSN.com. Under my login (my homepage is Google), IE opens, but crashes once I try to go to another web page. Active scan requires IE to run. It will not run with Mazilla. Any other suggestions?

Can you get into safe mode with networking?

Can you download clamwin and save to cd or flash drive and run it on the computer in question .....http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/clamwin_portable

update definitions if necc ....cince its portable ...going to take time to run.
