Internet Explorer will not function

I have had trouble using Internet Explorer. Basically it will not open at all. When I try to open it, the message:
Internet Explorer has a encountered a problem and needs to close pops up. This is the explanation I get:

Modver: 5.1.2600153

I am not sure if that is all the information needed in order for someone to suggest anything. I have the Error Report contents but was not sure if there was private information in it and didn't want to post it just incase.

I am fine with not using Internet Explorer as my browser I use MSN or Netscape and they work just fine. Sometimes though I go to a certain website and when I click on something it automatically tries to use internet explorer to open and since it doesn't work I am unable to view whatever it is that I was looking at.




1.Is there a way for your computer to recognize MSN or Netscape as your primary browser?

2.Can I delete Internet Explorer off my computer totally?

You can't delete IE.
