Internet Explorer

    I thought I had removed Internet Explorer but have folders/files with many references to IE
    Now there is no way to unistall it can I individualy remove these files without adverse affect?
    Or should I reinstall it and start again if so what version should i choose I have Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 64 bit Op Sys

    You can't fully remove Internet Explorer from any Windows OS and you shouldn't even try. Attempting to remove it will risk severe system problems and many programs use IE settings irrespective of whether a user surfs the net with it. So yes you should do a full reinstall of IE11.
    If you don't want to use it yourself, then just don't use it.

    Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on or off. Uncheck Internet Explorer. It won't uninstall IE because, as Max Turner said, many programs use the IE engine and settings. But there won't be any Desktop/Start menu icons for IE.

    I personally wouldn't advise that for most users. There always comes a time when a user needs to troubleshoot using a different browser to their default program. Going down the turning off Windows features route makes life complicated without need. Just removing any desktop or taskbar icon is enough.
