    How can I easily make it so that the Internet Options in Internet Explorer 6 is blocked off completely?

    I would rather not use software unless it is freeware.

    While logged in as administrator, hit windows key + r (or click start --> run), type 'gpedit.msc' (without the quotes) and press enter (or click okay)

    check the setting as shown in the attached screenshot its under user software settings.

    Gpedit depends on which OS you have as its not in the 9x or XP Home OS's ( have read that its possible to copy the files from XP pro into home and its works apparently )

    IN XP its possible to stop it in the ADD/REMOVE > ADD/Remove Windows Components and uncheck IE


    IE is freeware if you've already got Windows so dont get that statement and if your using one of the *nix's you'd not be using IE anyhow *only minorly confuddled*

    You're right here, I shouldn't have assumed he was using XP. I'd bet dollars to donuts that you're right about being able to copy from Pro to home, though.

    Won't that uninstall IE altogether? He only wants to block internet options.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but by freeware, I think he means a util to disable internet options.

    That is exactly the type of thing I want except I only want it to occur for the Limitied Accounts not Administrative also. Any ideas on how to fix this?
