Internet Gateway appeared for first time?

Normally I only see my LAN icon in Network Connections when accessing the Internet (ADSL), but today I noticed 2 icons; one was an Internet Gateway icon.
Is this someone else using my connection??
I use Windows XP SP3 at home and this is the only computer here.

If you don't have a firewall, turn on Windows firewall in control panel. I use that in Vista. Works like a charm.

Is that it? It's your modem. If you're on cable/DSL, you can get a cheap router for storing the login info & sharing the connection with multiple computers. On my pc, there's only my network card.

Windows Firewall is deactivated because I run Zonealarm
