Internet issues after "READ & RUN ME"

    I need some ideas on what I should check or where to look...

    I had a nasty infection on my laptop which kept my CPU usage at constant 100%. Solved that by going through all the steps in the Malware Removal guide (READ & RUN) - thanks a lot for posting it!
    But now I am unable to get on the internet. Tried both LAN and Wireless and both connect fine but when I start any browser it gives me "unable to connect" error.
    I repaired both connections (right click-Repair) multiple times and ran the SUPERAntiSpyware's broken-Network Connection(WinSock LSP Chain) repair but still no internet. Tried disabling the firewall with no result. I just can't think of anything else that could be causing this. Any ideas?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Do you use a Proxy Server to connect to the internet? If not, then you need to change your browser settings so that it is not trying to use a proxy. If you do use a Proxy, then you need to make sure the proper values are entered.


    We would need to see the logs from the READ & RUN ME to comment any further.
