Internet pages too big for monitor

I did search for an answer, and found several that were close, but just didn't have enough info for me. I'm not that savvy.

Just put a different monitor on puter. Many pages, even some here, are too wide or tall for the monitor, have to scroll left/right, up/down. I know about settings/display, etc, but I really don't know how it works. I am at 800X600. All print on various sites is much larger than I usually see.

How do I make things fit on this new monitor? I could not find a "default" setting.

 

oh, and I did check to see if I could install this monitor to the computer, didn't see that as an option in Install new hardward.

Puter is very old, os is win98.

 

Try the browser menu
view>zoom
or
view>textsize

 

Kad, I use aol, so don't know about a browser menu.

It is the top thin bar with file,edit,view etc.

 

Thanks, again for responding. AOL doesn't have view, but since I think I heard that aol uses IE, I went to IE, brought it up, did click view, and textsize, it was on medium, I clicked smaller. It did seem to make things a bit smaller there, but no difference here.

No can do, old mouse, no wheel. I really appreciate your efforts to help, really, but I can't do anymore with this tonight (this morning) Will try again tomorrow (today)

 

Did you try system resolution to 1024x768?
