Hi, My original post in netwoking is writen below, I was told to go through the cleaning procedure and then attatch the logs which I am now doing. Nothing has changed the original problem.

Combofix couldn't finish... It deleted some files and restarted then it came up with R6025 - pure virtual function call, and stayed on that for an hour before I closed the programme

Root Repeal couldn't run... It said after I clicked to run scan, 'Could not read the boot sector. Try adjusting the Disk Access Level in the options dialog'

SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and MGTolls logs are attatched

My old router stopped working so I have now got a 'dlink' router, installed it and everything was fine for a few days. I found 2 java virus' and removed them using Avira Antivir but since then instead of the desktop and laptops automatically conecting to 'dlink192' the laptops still do (with a choice of other networks available) the desktop connects to a network called 'Network2' and there are no other options to choose. When I go to 'why are no other networks being found' it says "No additional networks.. The computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured"

There is a 'realtec' network card installed and the desktop pc says it is working correctly. My PC is using Windows Vista

Does this mean the virus is still there and taking over the internet on my desktop or could it maybe be a faulty ethernet or internet cable? (The desktop is connected via a cable and not wireless).

Your logs are clean. This is not a malware issue. However, you may wish to reset your router to factory settings to test it back out. Alternatively, connect directly to your modem and see if you have the same issues.

Since you are not having any malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no real time protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.We recommend them for doing backup scans when you suspect a malware infection.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.

    3. Go back to step 6 of the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.

    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

I've jusy gone to 'Control Panel' and it seems one of the icons is missing, well it is there but its just a blank box. Its the very first icon, on my laptop its the 'Audio manager' and it was there still before I ran the scans

Unless Combo removed something, none of the other scans did. Can you find a C:\ComboFix.txt on your system?

Have you tried connecting directly to your modem?

As to your Audio issue, you could look in device manager for any ! or X or ? which would indicate a missing or corrupt driver. ( This is something to pursue in the software forum).

Going to try connecting to the modem direct tomorrow, it takes me ages to get the wireless router back on afterwards... keeps saying the cables are not connected correctly so I have to keep messing until it says its ok. If I unscrew the main lead to the modem and screw it back on it usually works but I've had enough for one day :(

Not a problem. Once you do this test you should continue in your thread in networking and post the results of this test.
