I just received a rehab Dell with Win7 installed.

Cranked it up and D/Led Firefox and Thunderbird, got them working everything was fine.

Took a lunch break and when I came back I brought up FireFox and was in the process of changing the home page when FireFox brought this up on my screen.

The onlyway I could get rid of it was to go to System Manager and end process. As soon as I brought up FireFox again I was back at his message.

Can anyone tell me what's going on and how to get rid of this situation so I can start using this PC again?

Have no idea what User Name or Password they are looking for. I haven't Password protected this PC.

Sound like a scam. Have you installed any AV software yet?

I downloaded them both from the Mozilla site that offers free downloads of both.

That's all I've been able to install so I don't have any AV software installed yet.

Safe way with a new Windows is to image it first and then use the built-in Internet Explorer to download and update your chosen AV before you download anything else.

I cranked up the Microsoft IE browser and and I'm attempting to D/L and install the anti-virus package they offer, which I have installed and this PC and my #2 PC.
I'm hoping I can get that running, do a scan and find the problem and have avast fix it.

You don't need - and mostly should not install - any security software 'offered to you' by anyone, including Microsoft.
All the best, safest security software programs - pre-tested - are ALL available here on MajorGeeks.

Once I got Avast Free Antivirus installed, it did a scan and found the problem and fixed it. Everything on my wife's new Dell (re-hab) laptop running Win7 has gone smoothly. I even managed to move her bookmarks over to the Firefox browser.

I've been using Avast Free for years and it has served me well. Has blocked every virus I've ever run into.

I also have the free Malwarebytes installed, ready for use and I've never had to use it, except to do the occasional scan to be sure everything is good.

Based on suggestions from Major Geeks, I have D/Led, installed and used Macrium Reflect to create image files on a DVD, I also have created Win7 recovery disks.

Major Geeks as kept me out of trouble and provided solutions to all my problems over the years and I recommend the site to everyone I know.

Good move. You might want to invest in a decent size external drive so it's practical to update your image from time to time.
