I'm looking to upgrade my broadband, but i'm curious about the speeds.

    I'm with virgin media.

I'd like to know if i am going to see a signicant difference between 30, 60 and 100mb speeds. I mean, do the download speeds for games, music, movies etc actually get up to 30, 60 and 100mb?

And also, will the speed difference affect my internet browsing experience or just downloads?

My personal experience was that EVERYTHING is faster.
Especially if you have enough RAM installed.

But, it also depends on how far you are away from the server you are downloading from. You can do speed tests via : http://speedtest.net/

You could have high speed between you and another NOC but, still have slow speeds downloading something. Good thing to do is test far away.

So, for example. Me getting close to where I live. 34.18/6.12 Mbps.
From me Indiana, to Russia at a place I've never heard of: Novy Urengoy
    4.47/3.49 Mbps

U/D btw. So, You may have fast speeds, but pending on location, eh.

    A few more
    New York
    17.16/5.02

    San Fransisco
3.73/3.5 (yuck, might as well download from russia)
