Ok.... I need help. I don't know if I am evaluating this wrong or not. Right not my boyfriend and I get online via his sister's wireless router. I am looking to connect service to our house. Here is the problem right this moment Windows says we are getting 36.0 Mbps. I'm looking at paying for internet that ranges in speeds from 1.0Mbps up to like 25 Mbps. I'm looking at minimum of 32.99 for 3 Mbps. Isn't the 36.0 Mbps I'm already getting for free better? Thank in advanced for your help.

The 36mbps youre seeing is likely your LAN speed via wireless. If you were to plug your computer in, youd see that go up to 100mbps, or 1gbps if you have it. the way to check your internet speed is by going to a site like www.speakeasy.net/speedtest, clicking on the server closest to you, and itll tell you an accurate download and upload speed or obviously asking your ISP what you have.
