Another (un)satisfied customer of a cybercrime ransomware variant. Ugh.

Followed directions in the below thread to get the attached frst.txt file since I am not able to startup in any same mode to get desktop access.

Save fixlist.txt to your flash drive.

You should now have both fixlist.txt and FRST.exe on your flash drive.

Now reboot back into the System Recovery Options as you did previously.
Run FRST and press the Fix button just once and wait.
The tool will make a log on the flashdrive (Fixlog.txt).
Please attach this to your next message. (See how to attach)

Now boot into normal Windows can continue with the below.

File attached as requested. I'm able to start up normally now and a system restore I attempted earlier from the recovery options page completed sat and it looks like the ransomware is gone (or at least dormant for the moment. Still need to run MGTools.

Thanks for the quick turnaround.

Question: I'm running Norton 360 and obviously that app didn't preclude the ransomware attack. Is there a better product to guard against such things real time?

I don't know of any AV software that is effectively stopping the ransomware.

What other issues are you still having, if any?
