Intervideo DVD creator

I have this program for downloading and editing from my panasonic video camera

Its called Intervideo DVD creator, (there are 3 other programs, but never needed them) it worked fine on XP, but now I have this windows 7, it dont record on to my laptop any more,

okay I know its an old program, but its nice and simple, and ideal for saving and editing movies of holidays and the grand kids

Has anyone got a decent program that will work with my Panasonic DV camera and windows 7 ?

(this program when I bought it, was 70 odd quid, has any one got any recommendation for anything free)

My camera is a Panasonic NV-DA1

Tried that but it dont download from my camera, it doesnt even detect my camera in 'my computer' for some reason:cry

Can you try to run it in compatibility mode? You right click the shortcut to the program and click properties, then the compatibility tab. Check the box, "Run this program in Compatibility Mode For", then select XP SP3. But, I think this is more of a hardware problem than software. So far is does not look too promising for this camera and Windows 7

 

Yes, tried running it all the compatability modes, it doent save it on the laptop HD at all

Been trying that with all my media programs that dont work with Windows 7

Video Editing, photo editing, music editing, DVD copying

Makes me wonder if it was worth upgrading to 7

I think I am going to be trying to find programs that work with the darn thingrolleyes

 

You connect with a 1394 Firewire cable, correct. Microsoft rewrote the Firewire driver for Windows 7 and people have been having trouble connecting legacy devices that worked with XP. See this Thread on changing the driver for legacy support.
