XP Pro, SP3, current updates, T60p DualCPU, a once undamaged brain.

Using Ashampoo 6, I save several video files to a DVD, which it verifies. I bring up "My Computer" and it lists my onboard CD/DVD drive as DVD RAM Drive. I put the DVD into it and it changes to CD Drive and notes that it is "Not accessible," just as if the DVD were brand new unrecorded.

I open Ashampoo 6 again and it lists the same files I just recorded to it. Back in My Computer it is inaccessible again.

What on earth is wrong with this picture?

Does Ashampoo have an option to finalize the disc? That should make it viewable in My Computer.

Thanks. I hadn't thought of that.

Actually there are so may options - even in the free version - that I really have to scratch my head just to get to a burning session. I don't even know for sure that I could to the same thing again. I tried a run with Amok's burner and got a DVD that is seen by XP, but it is only viewable on a PC. I'll keep trying.

If your not invested in Ashampoo then try CDBurnerXP it is good for data discs and makes the finalize option very clear.

How are you writing the video files--just as data?
