Ios Spyware???

I was contacted by a friend this morning who is suspecting that her husband placed spyware in her iPhone 8. Her text messages to him conveniently vanish. She’s not sure how to detect spyware/remote control on her phone.

She has another phone she’s using for everything else. It seems to be only messages/emails back snd forth with her husband that vanish. The device is a couple of thousand miles away, where I can’t get my hands on it. Is there anyone I can point her to who may be able to help her see if her phone has something installed that shouldn’t be there?

I think that’s part of the problem...they’re getting divorced and she needs to know what’s going on with her device.
