IP Address question

I have a question regarding IP address locations, so I am not even sure if this question can be answered or if I am even in the right section of this forum to ask it, but I hve used this site to solve other problems before and figured I'd give it a shot.
I use readnotify to verify my emails are opened for work. Is there any way that I can take the IP address that is provided in the notification and find out the specific info to that IP address, like who its registered to, or the exact location of the opening (city, town, village). I also wanted to know if by having an IP address if we can tell who's email address opened the email, in this case the email had been fowarded and I would like to konw who else looked at it. I use this for business and for legal documentation, but have never had to verify an IP address before. If I can't find this out here, anyplace else I can go to get the answer. I know that qwest.net dial up must have been used on the IP address, but I don't know exact locale or email address and need to. Thanks.

 

Type the IP address in here, http://www.arin.net/whois/ , it'll give you a little more info like owner of the ip address, aka what company it's through. Then you can try to contact the isp to see if they would give you more info. Good luck, isp's don't give out that kind of information. Ask the RIAA and MPAA.
