    Hi Folks

Bit new to this, so bear with me......
I have got involved with a company setting up the internet etc, and now on Small B Server2003. We have our ADSL on the way, we have 5 IP addresses isued to us as follows

    Router addresses is 82.***.***.1

    Useable IP address range 82.***.***.2
    I have 5 addresses so i assume

    82.***.***.2
    82.***.***.3
    82.***.***.4
    82.***.***.5
    82.***.***.6

There is only a router being supplied. First do i need to purchase a seprate firewall, In the first instance when setting up, would you give the server the on the EXT NIC Ip address of 82.***.***.2.

and then the other network card an ip address of 192.168.1.10, or different to this?

    I hope this is clear

    Thanks

    Chris

If setting up a network at work, I would defiantely set up a Firewall between the servers and the internal network if there is any type of interconnection. If wanting to setup a Firewall between the servers and router, I would defiantely also secure and use a Firewall. As for router, is it a Layer3 type device, and what brandname and model?
