How easy is it for someone to get your name and address from your IP address?

 

Depends on ISP,other info, etc. If someone wanted to, they could.

 

Depends upon where you live, your ISP and your connection type (to an extent). If your ISP freely gives out your details, then it could be very easy indeed.

 

I use Verizon.. isn't it illegal to give out info like that? So I could call someones ISP and give them an IP address, and they will tell me who it is?

 

It's not illegal, social enginering is very easy, it's not just as easy as that, but you can BS someone, if you have to worry, don't do whatever you have to worry about

I'm not worried at all. I have the IP adress of someone who has been bothering me, and I want to find out who they are.

 

If it's for that, don't, it's pointless, I could understand if it was a DoS, a ToS violation, something suspicious, etc. But if it's just that, I wouldn't waste my time, this user probably has a dynamic IP anyways and you can not trace them.
