longer way
go to start.run..type CMD hit enter
at the prompt type IPCONFIG and hit enter

 

Also, ipconfig will only tell you the IP number of your local ethernet card. If you have a router, it will not be your real IP address. It will be something the router gives you, like 192.168.1.100.

www.whatismyip.com will tell you the IP number that you get from your internet provider.
