Whenever I plug my iPad into the USB port the computer gives me a message that says something along the lines of "USB not recognized. The last device you plugged into this computer malfunctioned and was not recognized".

I get that message with three different computers using XP, Win7 and Win8. I also used two seperate USB cables that both my iPhone and iPod work with. I also tried an outside, self powered USB hub. I Googled it until I am blue in the face. This is a a new iPad that works perfectly in every other way. It even works with iCloud and iTunes on the iPad.

    Anyone ever seen this issue.

    Thanks

Are your iPhone & iPod Jailbroke, same as the iPAD? What vversion of the devices do you own, along with what version of iOS?

Can you post a screen shot of the error message you are getting? I get plenty of hits with your quoted remark you are getting http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=US...ed+and+was+not+recognized".&ei=UTF-8&fr=moz35

These computers per chance do not happen to be work computers, or at a public location like a library?

Thanks for your reply I had given up hope that anyone would respond.

I have iPod, iPhone and iPad. None of them are jail broke and these are all private computers.
You worry me when you say you see a lot of this. This situation makes an iPad or any other device pretty near worthless. Without being able to connect to my computer I cannot restore it if it is necessary nor can I get updates, etc.

I could not jail break it if I wanted to because it cannot enter DFU mode.

Thanks again for your help but since it was a new purchase I returned it for an exchange I had given up hope of being able to fix it. Lets hope the new one has no such problems.

    Happy New Year!

Go back and reread what I stated. I did not state that I see it a lot, I stated, that I got a lot of hits during a search of your problem. The problem lies in the computer, not the device.
