iPod transfer of music to PC

My cohort used her office computer to download music from CD's onto iTunes which were transferred onto the school iPod for use in our classes. At the end of the school year in May 2012, our school received new computers. She moved to another school. So now I have an iPod with nearly 200 songs downloaded from our school CD's, but I am afraid to add another song because I fear losing all the songs on the iPod.
Do I need to somehow remove those songs onto my computer and then download them into a different iTunes account that I can access?
Is it true that if I plug it into the new computer with a different iTunes account that it will delete all that is on the iPod since it was on a different iTunes account when initially transferred to the iPod?
I do not have any purchased music on the iPod, only Cd's that we had purchased on our own and not through iTunes.

First you would go on the safari on the ipod.Then you would look up icloud. After you are on icloud site you will pick the option to back up your ipod. After you backed up your ipod you transfer the music off of itunes to your ipod.Then you go back to icloud (on ipod) and back it up again. Then you restore your ipod using the icloud site. Then all the songs should be on your ipod. Then you will have the songs already on ipod and the ones you want on it.

I have used sharepod for simliar things in the past.

 

Seems illegal but always transfer non-purchased music from my iPod to iTunes or computer HDD with iTransfer.:-D
