    Hello and Help.
    My AVG says I have IRP HOOK ROOTKIT. I gives me the folder name but I dont know how to remove it.
    When I try to run MBAM my PC crashes and I get the blue screen of death.
    This also happened when I was running Hitman.

    I am including all logs I was able to get.
    Thanx, KC

    Can you attach the log from AVG so I can see what it is referring to?

    Are you unable to run RogueKiller as well?

    Hi,
    Sorry I thought I included the RK Log.

    Does this IRP reproduce itself? Something strange happened Yesterday.

    I went to retrieve the AVG log to send and ALL my scan results were deleted. I decided to re run a scan in the windows folder since this is where AVG reported the IRP was.
    I had 25 Infections! The night before I was clean except for the IRP HOOK.
    The only time I was without protection was yesterday while trying to scan with the tools listed, and those were the only things I downloaded.
    I took care of those but I still have the RTKT.

    I found a log from hit man for the few minutes it ran before crashing, I've included that.

    Did you want the Dump report? From when the pc Crashed which it did again.

    Give this rootkit detector a run and attach the log:

    RootKit Revealer.

    Now rerun RogueKiller and fix this item:
    Code:
    ¤¤¤ Registry Entries : 2 ¤¤¤
    [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKLM\[...]\Run : systray (C:\windows\mstre5.exe [-]) -> FOUND
    Rerun it and fix this item:
    Code:
    ¤¤¤ Scheduled tasks : 2 ¤¤¤
    [V1][SUSP PATH] At1.job : C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\APPLIC~1\DSite\UPDATE~1\UPDATE~1.EXE - /Check [-] -> FOUND
    Now

    Download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.

    Code:
    :Processes
    explorer.exe

    :Files
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\dla\tfsnifs.sys
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\*.*

    :Commands
    [purity]
    [ResetHosts]
    [emptytemp]
    [start explorer]
    [Reboot]
    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste List of Files/Folders to Move window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2782/4174320048_f01c448b32_o.png button.
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please do so if asked.
    • Copy everything in the Results window (under the green bar), and paste it in your next reply.

    Now navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder ( assuming your Windows drive is C). This is where your log will be saved in the form of Date and Time mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Just look for the most recent .log file. Attach this log file to your next message.

    After a reboot rerun both RogueKiller and Hitman and attach those logs as well.

    You didn't fix the items I asked you to fix in RogueKiller. Please do so and after a reboot, rescan and give me a new log.

    Thats what I was asking how do I fix them? There are 4 buttons on the side.

    Do I click fix host? fix Dns? Fix Proxy? Fix shortcut? i got warnings when I attempted to click. I don't want to make this worse.

    Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
    When it opens, press the Scan button
    Now click the Registry tab and locate these detections:

    • [RUN][SUSP PATH] HKLM\[...]\Run : systray (C:\windows\mstre5.exe [-]) -> FOUND
    Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.
    When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt
    Attach RKreport[2].txt to your next message. (How to attach)
    Do not reboot your computer yet.

    Then open it again if neccessary and go to the ¤¤¤ Scheduled tasks : 2 ¤¤¤
    tab and put a check mark next to this item:
    [V1][SUSP PATH] At1.job : C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\APPLIC~1\DSite\UPDATE~1\UPDATE~1.EXE - /Check [-] -> FOUND
    Now press the Delete button.

    Reboot and rescan with RogueKiller and attach the log.

    Great! Thank you sooo much. AVG reports no more RTKT, but why does hitman pro crash my pc? I got the blue screen of death and a dump warning.

    I don't know why it is crashing your system. But if everything is running good, we can do the final cleanup:

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. If you are running Win 8, Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below to flush restore points:
      • Refer to the instructions for your WIndows version in this link: Disable And Enable System Restore
      • What we want you to do is to first disable System Restore to flush restore points some of which could be infected.
      • Then we want you to Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
