Is ctfmon.exe good or bad?

It is a standard Windows file. But obviously like every other process, it all depends on where it is running from. Thus just telling us ctfmon.exe is not very helpful. Give is the full path of the process.

What OS are you running?

 

Compare the file in c:\windows with the one in c:\windows\system32

The one in system32 is the valid one and if you right click on them and select the Version tab, you can get more info about them. (At least the valid one will give you version info!)

 

It is okay but it belongs in the system32 folder!
