Does Microsoft still include the necessary software for dialup? Specifically on Win 10? I'm back in the market for a new computer after 8 or 10 years, and it seems that dialup modens are no longer standard equipment in desktops, and maybe never were on laptops. Assuming stuff is a losing proposition, so I have to ask. And yes, I have no choice but to use dialup, still, in this day and age.

Windows 10 still caters for dial-up connections.

    Hi

The only issue is with new laptops these days DUN is dead, they do not generally come with a Dial Up port or hardware, but you can get USB external DUN hardware like this HERE

No probs and the USB options really look good for those who like yourself have to still use DUN. The one from USR I listed does have Win10 drivers.

Now that you mention that, I will look at that particular item. Thanks again.

Should I ASSume that the picture on that webpage shows the modem plugging into a USB slot? A USB 2 or 3?
This is the stuff I'm not up to speed on. Specially when sellers don't make it clear.

Will work in either, USB2.0 devices are backwards compatible with USB3.0 slots, also most laptops and PCs that come from OEMs tend these days to have both USB slots.

Specs on that device from USR is DTE interface: USB Version 2.0
