Is fake os safe?

Hi as you may know from my previous thread the person i bought the pc from sold me a pc withe a fake os i.e win 7 xe loader. Hence xe loader.

I was told today by a work mate that hackers can know view my personal details for example my email my online banking details etc. Due to having a dodgy OS.

Am I really in danger or am I safe?

 

Fake OSs by their very nature are malware.
Any OS that is not original can have viruses or key-loggers or even surveillance software hidden in them by the person who first broke the code.

Here at MGs we do not give assistance to anyone using fake software even though you may have bought it inadvertently so you need to understand that your login name and IP address are known and recorded.

 

Ok thanks for the advice. But whats with the name and ip address being recorded for the record?what record? Blacklisted or something lol?

Look i need to know if i am safe? I assumed the seller was going to install a genuine OS. Which now i realised why i got such a good deal. Police will be invloved if he dosent sort it all out.

 

How about i get an upgrade lets say of genuine windows 8 and install it on top of fake win 7 will that help or do i need full win 8 ?

 

Odds are you'll be safe for the time being. There's a good chance MS will catch onto your loader though and block it eventually. leaving you with a limited useful PC. You should be able to find a copy of Win 7 or 8 for the money you saved buying your computer with a dodgy OS.

You need to turn the seller into eBay before he sells more. Also, contact Microsoft. They may be able to offer you a discount for a genuine OS and possibly even a reward for helping them bust a pirate.

 

not blacklisting but by your own admission you have a warez OS and that makes it difficult for us to help you with any issues you may have with it.

As has been suggested report the seller.
