With the bloat of Windows 10, the minimum is 32GB. The last time I bought those cheap "netbooks" with the 32GB on board SSD, the salesman even told me you'll never get the next upgrade for lack of space, but they were for the in laws to surf the web so it didn't matter at the time. Microsoft generally doesn't make the hardware, BTW. Might look at Acer's site and see if they have a recovery image or instructions. Alternatively, you could get a high speed USB larger than 32GB and load Windows on it - "Windows To Go"

You read the specs before you buy something! You also read reviews on what you are considering buying.
Our two Acer laptops purchased in 2011 and 2013 are used daily so I can't agree that Acer makes junk.

Check HP which also sells device with a too small hard drive for a Windows 10 device. Read complaints from people who can't do updates and have discovered that when a new version of 10 appears, the only way to install it is to do a clean install. That gets tiresome if you have to do that twice a year.

32Gb is okay for an android phone; it is less than adequate for running Windows 10 as you discovered.

i unplugged it briefly while it was resetting
is that why it stopped and it had to reboot or go to old install?
