Is it possible to duplicate a computer just by copying the C Drive?

I had to send my laptop back to replace the drive (Windows 7 x64) I tried to do a system image copy but that failed.

I also opened the C drive and copied everything (via right click, send-to) to a 2TB External Hard Drive. Is it possible to get my laptop to run all the cool programs I had registered to old drive on this new drive? Or will things like volatile registry keys prevent a successful transfer and recovery so to speak?

Thanks for any help answering this question.

A few might work but I wouldn't count on it. You'll be better of reinstalling in the long run.

I figured as much but my concern is the premium programs I had on there like Office, Revo Pro, Sticky Password Pro, IDM, WinRar, BitDefender Security Suite 2012 and a bunch of stuff from GOTD and giveaway and contests from tech sites. I think I even got Advanced SystemCare PRO 5 and BoostSpeed from MajorGeeks.

I am afraid some of the programs won't take the keys again......if I can even find all of them.
