I purchased a USB 2.0 PCI Card from eBay. Shortly after I installed it, I began to have problems with my computer. I believe I was infected with AGOBOT-KU (at least according to Spy-Bot S & D). Is it possible to get malware from a PCI card? I have since removed the USB card and I have used the malware removal instructions and cleaned my computer and all seems back to normal now. Should I throw out the new card? I should probably also mention that I was upgrading my USB card. This is an older computer - is it possible that it can't run the USB 2.0 and the malware came from somewhere else? Thanks!

Its possible yes that a usb card contained a small bit of memory and a piece of malware, but very very very unlikey that was the actual cause of it. Anyhow go visit the malware section and do a run through to make sure your clean now.

Thanks Colemanguy! So does that mean that this computer probably can't run USB 2.0? Here is why I ask... After I followed the READ & RUN ME FIRST Malware removal guide everything was running normally again. Then I tried to use my USB flash drive. I know you will probably now guess that the malware is on my flash drive, but this is a card reader and the only card that has been used with it is an XD card for my camera. As soon as I plugged in the card reader my computer slowed down to "learning to crawl" all over again. So I removed the new USB card and put the old USB card back in, all is normal again. Also, I plugged the flash drive card reader into the old USB card and all runs normally.
