I have done something to really screw up my computer...but I am trying everything I can think of to salvage it without having to format it.

I had to install windows in a separate folder than the original one in order to just be able to get it booted up. I'm thinking it has something to do with my internet explorer being messed up ...soooooo

    I am wondering

    1. If theres a place I can download a complete installer for internet explorer 6

    2. If so can I just save the installer to my c: drive.. uninstall this copy of windows....reboot to the command prompt and install IE6 from there?...I dont know if this will fix my other windows...but I'd rather try it than lose everything by formatting.

Which version of windows are you running? if XP, then you can just do a repair install and you won't lose anything. I'm not sure about 98 or ME.
