is my 9800gx2 broke?

I'm getting an average of 45fps in unreal tourament 3 at a resolution of 1650*1050 with ingame settings on high..

3dmark06 scores are 11k

This is my rig

That doesnt seem right to me..in all these benchmarks they are getting 100+ in ut3

 

You 3Dmark score is a little low but not horrible. Your processor is the likely cause of your low 3Dmark scores.

A single GeForce 9800 GX2 1024MB GDDR3 is scoring 12992 in the charts. But that's with a Core 2 Duo X6800 Extreme CPU - 3DMark06 is very CPU dependent.

I was scoring 12230 with my 8800GT and quad core 6600 CPU. I overclocked my CPU from the stock 2.4 ghz to 3.2 ghz and now I get over 14300 in 3DM06.
You would get a serious performance boost in games & benchmarks by overclocking your CPU, if your into oc'ing.

So today i got sick of it and bought these:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail
Asus Maximus Formula Intel X38 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 DHX PC2-6400C4DHX TwinX (2x1GB)

Cost me £360

The mobo is pci-express 2, which alone will increase the score a little bit. and the E8400 is the best at that price range for gaming and overclockability.

Not too impressed with my ram so changed that too
