is my mobo dead?

Hi,
Yesterday I changed my CPU fan, everything went fine, when i went to reboot i got the following error message 'check system health! cpu id...'

I put back the old fan and still the same thing. I cannot go into the bios settings anymore, i'm just stuck on that black screen and cannot do anything. I press delete etc when booting up but nothing happens.. just stuck on this error message but there is no beep alarm...

is my mobbo dead or something?

Were you using an antistatic braclet at the time?

I know when I first started with computers I made the mistake of not doin so, and managed to fry something on my mobo when changing the stock cooler, because BSOD after 5 minutes!

Mind you it was a Packard Bell . . .

 

In addition the threat of static, you may have somehow damaged something when swapping the fan. Did you use a screwdriver and did it slip at some point maybe scratching the motherboard in the process? Did you plug the fan back in correctly? Did you remove the CPU for any reason and maybe put it back not 100% perfect? Try clearing the CMOS. Whenever you open any PC case, always unplug the power cord from the power supply before opening the case. and leave it unplugged for about a minute before opening up. You want to be sure that all the components have completely discharged. I have seen some older motherboards still hold measure-able amounts of electricity up to 2 minutes after being unplugged.
