man, my left ear is still hosed up from last night. Didn't realize I had the amp up that loud. Next time, ear plugs lol.

 

Wow i wasn't the only one playing loud last night then! Had our first band practice of 2005 which went well except our singer has no voice so can't really call him a singer! But yeah I've started using earplugs!

No, you're too young. When you get old, you have to have it louder to hear it.

 

When you play it too loud when young you have to have it a LOT louder when you get old. Music styles come and go, but hearing loss is forever.

Blues, if you're STILL having problems this morning, you've likely caused some permanent damage. The obvious symptoms will likely go away, but if ringing and distortion remain for hours after the sound quits, you've caused some real damage. Take care of your ears bro, you only get one set. Loud music is cool, but hearing aids or total deafness is not.

Too true! I'm 35 years old and I have several frequencies that I can't hear a thing on, on both ears. And I have tinnitus. I'm too young for that!

I'm so scared of loosing it, I never even go to the movies without earplugs these days... Lol. Makes me feel so goddam old!

 

personally, (just for me) if my ears aren't bleeding it ain loud enough... but, working security at RR concerts in front of the speakers when i was young... well, i have hearing loss in several ranges too.

I wear earplugs when I go to gigs too, I figger that I might want to go into sound in the future, so I want to keep my options open. Its a bit of a dampener when you go to an interview for a job as a sound engineer if you keep saying "What??"

When I was in my 20s I saw a band called Teenage Head at a nightclub. It is still the loudest music experience I've encountered. My ears rang for 4 days after, but they seem to recover. Because the music was so loud, because it was so good, and because someone was passing a doobie around while we were waiting in the lineup it was excellent. Lesson learned though, I like my music loud, but too loud is just stupid. I've lost some frequencies due to air tools at work, I've noticed it's harder now to hear somethings when there's other noises going on around.

 

Yesir...I do believe that is is that time of the season...I just about blew out my front window crankin the bass amp WAAAAYYYYYYY - UP!!

I'll have you out to hear the new plexi when I get an attenuator. Then we'll take the attenuator off. You will have to clean yer drawers, it is hands down the loudest amp I have ever heard in my life.
