Is The Ram Working?

    just bought a new stick of ram used to have 64mb of it. got a 128mb stick. I run win 98 and the the system screen now says i have 128 instead of 64... cant you use both... does this mean i cant use the 64mb? anybody got some help? thanks.

    If you have installed just the 128 and took out the 64meg stick then all is working fine. If you have the 2 sticks in then it seems your 64meg is not being recognoised, it may be due to the new stick..The main thing is your new memory is working. :)

    f you do have both sticks in and you are only seeing 1 stick recognized, then try and swap them around and see if they are both recognized. Sometimes all it takes is swaping the slots around.

    It's more than likely that both sticks are incompatible with each other, which is pretty common, especially with generic brands.

    Take it back to where you got it from and see if you can swap it.

    the other culprit is some boards only see s/s ram if the stick of 128 is d/s it may not see half of it :rolleyes:
