Is there a version of ComboFix for Windows XP Professional x64 Edition?

I attempted to run Combo-Fix.exe as directed in the "READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide", but the installation program displayed an error message stating I had an incompatible OS.

System Info:
Microsoft Windows XP
Professional x64 Edition
Version 2003
Service Pack 2

Processor/RAM:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 6000+
3.01 GHz, 8.0 GB of RAM

Fixed Drives
80.0 (74.4) GB HDD w/ 50.0 GB free (internal C: Drive)
100.0 (93.1) GB HDD w/ 34.5 free (external)

Are there any plans by the developer/distributor of that program to create a version that is compatible with my OS?

As far as I know there are no plans to support x64. Most of these specialty tools use special techniques and additional 3rd party tools that do not and will not support x64.

In reality, it has not really been much of an issue from what we have seen in the forum. Very few people come here who are using x64 for possibly two reasons

very few people overall are using x64 to begin with

the few people who do use x64 are not getting any major infections.

It is quite possible that the malware creators also do not have x64 systems or much knowledge about the differences, and thus that is why there is a lower rate of infections with x64 systems.

SUPERAntiSpyware & Spybot will run on x64. MGtools does say it does not support x64 but some aspects of it still will run. And I do have a version of one script file that is part of MGtools that I modified to run on x64.
