Is there a way to tweak settings for an all in one scanner or copier?

Is there a way to adjust the registry settings on my computer or some other trick or tweak that would allow me to decide my HP PSC 1200v all in printer/scanner/copier prints or scans? By that I mean can I tweak it so it prints in a lower quality draft mode or copies with a darker contrast when doing a black copy?

 

I would think all those "tweaks" can be set by using buttons on the PSC or by changing the print settings before printing, or by using the HP software.

You get a 15 day free trial. It works !! I've used it in XP Pro SP3. It is really simple to use. You can set it to ask you what percentage of ink to use for each document to print. A saving of at least 30% is usually possible depending on the quality of output desired and whether the output is black and white, colour only, or both.

Simpler than stuffing around with HP software and settings, believe me.

What if you changed your default print settings to 75% gray, and printed in black only mode?


If I only new enough about computers, I could be a rich man. I've had some good ideas for software myself.rolleyes

 

Try it and see, but in my experience 50% for black and white is about as faint as I like to print. Bazza
