I have an original MSDN Windows XP Professional Sp-3 but no activation key. Now that Microsoft has abandoned XP, I wonder whether there is a way to activate this. Is it possible to do it with a registry edit.

    Thank you.

Every time Windows XP is re-installed, the activation key changes. Therefore a registry edit will not help. And activating any version of Windows by bypassing the official methods is illegal.

There is no way to bypass the activation of Windows XP and now that is no longer supported you might have to consider in upgraded to Windows 7 or newer. Just for your information that Windows 7 support ends in 2020.

I did this and found too many results. So I am trying to figure out what the most trustworthy methods are. I also searched for 'XP activators' on line. Found dozens of them! There again the problem is which ones can be trusted? I was hoping that someone here with first hand knowledge might help me with this :)
