Personally I wouldnt go with it,go with the best spec parts seperately, you can get a 4 channel fan controller for $10 ,buy only the fans that will fit your case,do you need 3 80mm fans:confused: when shopping look at the cfm 'airflow' and the DB 'noise',you want the highest airflow for the minimum noise

If you have any airflow in your case at all the harddrive should be cool enough, your harddrive has a thermal sensor on which can be checked via speedfan,if its over 40c maybe the cooler would help but I'd be more interested in creating better airflow through the case

I dont like pci cooling extractors, you want the airflow bottom front>top rear pci extractors suck the cool air from the front and blow it straight back out before its had chance to cool anything

attached is my temps as seen by the everest program .

i do have 4 case fans installed .
    2 in front ,, intake
one in the side . intake ,
one in the back , exhuast .

the fans were giving to me .. second hand .
not sure of the name or anything .
i think they are 80 mil.

    i have 2 hard drives .
    both are western digital .

there is a big difference in temps .. as you can notice .

if you could , review the attached spec .
tell me what you think .

    maybe everything is good .

it is summer , and my room is warm ..
i have not had any problems .
im just wondering is all my temps doing o.k ..

many thanks for the reply ..

im a new bee here .

    cheers .

No problem:) All your temps look fine the raptor is nice and cool, the other WD is a little on the hot side is it an older drive:confused: ,might wanna rethink where its positioned or a hardrive cooler, increased airflow through the case is always the best option though a harddrive cooler just dumps the heat inside the case, other than that if your happy with the noise your computer makes I wouldnt bother with the cooling kit

Is there a specific problem you think may be heat related thats made you consider the cooling kit, crashes or noise for example

no problems what so ever .

i recently installed that 160 gig western digital as a storage drive .
when i looked at it with the everest program , i noticed it was hotter than the raptor ..

im a new bee see .
i guess i just want to be on the safe side .
i figured this forum would be a good place to ask a question .
ive used this forum on several occaisions , with great results ..

if the temps look good to you , ill just leave well enough alone .

when my old case fans give me trouble , ill replace them with better ones ..
as i said , they were givin to me .
but they seem to work fine . for now anyways . just humming away there . anyways , i want to thank you for the reply . and the reassurance that my temps are good ..
if you can , for future reference ,,,,
could you recommend some case fans .
i really dont know how old these fans are see .
when i have to replace one ,, ill replace all 4 ..

    thanks again ..
    cheers .

I havnt been shopping for case fans in a while and there are new and improved ones coming out all the time, when shopping for fans look at DB "noise" and cfm "airflow" the former as low as possible the latter as high as possible, ball bearings fans also last longer :)

There are 1-200 80mm fans to look through, happy shopping :)

No problem,on the surface looks good, reasonably bright, great response time, your best bet is to start a thread the hardware forum see if anyone has had experience with one, also THE most important thing to do is round up reviews of the monitor from 5-6 sources just google the monitors name there will be plenty to look through

anandtech has some good guides and reviews

man that was a fast reply . thanks . i did read up on it alot . from what i gather , its a HALF DECENT monitor . the reviews i read at ncix , seem to say its a good monitor . there is 9 reviews there , and not to much bad to say . i did google it , but there not many reviews on it . but the few i did read , were possitive .
and your opinion was positive .
in the meantime , i will start a new thread in the hardware section .
again buddy , thanks for all you help here . this is a great forum ,, no doubt .

cheers , and thanks again ..

I actually just saw that monitor at Staples and it was one of the better ones. The colors are great, really sharp picture. Looks like a good choice. For fans, try Panflo or Vantec Stealth, a few others, cant remember but ill check when i get back.

    sounds great .
i live here on an island in canada .
that acer will be here around mid september .
to be honest , ive never really saw a lcd monitor in progress .
not many people game here . so im basically going on reviews and forums .
the place where i live theres no computers stores .
those stores are in the city .. about 3 hours drive from here , and believe it or not , i dont own a car , nor drivers licence .
ive never needed one . nor do i have interest in one ..

im real glad you passed a comment on the acer .
it makes me feel more confident in my purchase .

    thanks much for replying ..
    cheers .
