Please help. I use XP (upgrade, win98 is installed 1st) When I start my comp, many IE windows open, up to 91 and freezes/slows my computer. I can usually close them with task manager/end program. Sometimes I can not. It only happens when I boot it up. Once I get all the internet explorer windows to close its fine. Even when I go online and use internet explorer, its fine. I have formated my hard drive several ways. I have formated the hard drive in the following ways. Using set up screen on XP CD, using set up screen on win98 CD, using the CD that came with the hard drive and also on the MSDOS screen of Win98 by typing Format C: . Everything goes smooth but somehow my new windows installation still has the same problem with all the IE's opening at boot up. I have formatted 3 times, ran anti-virus, spyware. What can I do? IF i formated my drive how can this still be on my comp ? Can a virus go into memory or bios ? Help Please. Thank you. Dustin - Torrance,CA

I can do that. I don't know much about computers but I think I selected a Fat32 instead of NTFS. I don't know what that means so I chose FAT32 out of habit. I will try formatting and selecting NTFS. I don't know what the difference is but I will try it.
