Is this laptop better?

I'm on the hunt for a new laptop again, and was wondering if I'm reading this right........

I have a HP EliteBook 8730W and looking at getting an HP Envy 17-j120us. I can't find the if it's a sata ii or a sata iii, I want of course to upgrade to a sata iii. I also read a few place that said the Intel Core i7(3.4 ghz) is only marginally better than the 2.8 ghz intel core 2 duo.......... I'm just a little lost. Where do I begin?


Uses are the same, general internet use, youtube, some spreadsheets, no games, maybe some moves.

 

Wherever you read about the cpu performance difference, it is very, very wrong.

That core-i7 is marginally better than a 3rd or 2nd gen i7 only.

The Envy is Sata III, by the way.

Edit: That said, that Envy is way overkill for what you do.

An i7 is much more stronger than core 2 duo, by a big leap too.

It comes with Sata 3 yes. I would be surprised if it doesn't on such a modern model
