is this normal?

like ... my first WU will be done in march any tweaks you guys could suggest would be helpful (keep in mind im folding on a linux box)

the rig I'm folding is the following: (*not* the one in my sig)
Slackware 10, 1.4GHz celeron, intel solano chipset, 512MB RAM PC100

 

I've gotten dates like that, too; the WU will be done MUCH sooner than that- I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the due time is a cut-off point where no points are earned.

 

Correct, that is the latest date the WU has to be in by to earn any points

Just curious Pyrate, did your WU mellow out after time and change to a more beleivable time frame???
I think sometimes it takes it some time for the program to determine how long it will take.

 

Just the program by itself doesn't calculate the estimated time frame (or it didn't last time I checked). Somthing like EMIII will calculate the time to completion of each frame/WU

 

that quote was from the "myfolding.html" doc not from the GUI as the version for linux doesn't have a GUI ... running it with my windows PC(which is much much faster) and that WU is almost done while this one isn't even half way done ... and the windows is doing a large WU or whatever they are called

 

Some of the WU's (work units) finish in hours; some in days. What type of WU's are on your machines? (Which core being used, what program- Gromacs, Tinker, PMD). All that info is in your console (or FAHlog); sounds totally normal. Hope this helps. (Like your post #
