is this possible with NETWORK

THIS IS JUST QUICK QUESTION CAN I CONNECT 2 PUTORS USING 1394 FIREWIRE CONNECTION.
IF SO WOULD I NEED A HUB FOR THIS AND ANY SPECIALS CABLES .

 

no. both computers are master devices, and therefore can not be connected trhough fire wire. i know that there is a usb networking standard, so there might be one for fire wire, but with normall firewiere, i dont think so

 

Why would you really want to use firewire anyways? It only does 400Mbps. If you want the extra speed just use gigbit ethernet and you get 1000Mbps. Although you'll never actually see that speed but it's faster then firewire and the cards are cheaper then firewire cards. Of course as soon as you get more then two computers the switches/routers for gigabit are still insanely high priced but if it's only two computers you can just use a cross over cable.

In Windows XP, yes, standard firewire can be used to network two computers.
