Is this spyware?

A few days ago i was chatting in the Yahoo Chat and i got a message that said that i logged out and because nothing was working i supposed i did logged out. So i logged in again, but it says my ID or password is wrong and cannot connect to Yahoo Chat. So is this spyware, something that stole my password and changed it? I still can check my mail...

 

Sounds like you got booted for chat,and the booter stole your id,I've heard of this before. Chances are you'll never get your old id back again.

 

Ive never heard of Malware stealing Yahoo! ID's. Anything is possible but I seriously doubt this is the case. Most likely its someone you know thats mad at you or either playing a joke on you. It also could be someone in the chat just being a jerk.

In order to get your Yahoo! ID back, you will have to attempt to answer the secret question or contact Yahoo! directly.

 

how can i contact Yahoo directly... and talk to a staff member or something?

 

I dont have it anymore but you will have to find there email address. E-mail someone and advise them of the situation. Chances are your going to have to start a new ID.

 

if u can still get your email cant u just get them to email you your password say you forgot it?? i dont use yahoo but ive had people change my password on msn before and that how i got it back lol

 

I started another ID and i got booted of chat and cannot log in again... i changed my password and still cant. I dont think the password is the problem, but just not being able to log in, something is not letting me... so any spy/malware or virus chance to be the problem? i tried the READ BEFORE... but no change

 

1) Open Windows Explorer Then go to C:\ProgramFiles\Yahoo!\Messenger\StoredIM

2) Delete the newest dated file in there, This should fix the problem

3) If that does not work Delete all the files in there
(You will lose any all you offline messages doing this)

Note: On some computers it might be stored under Pager and not Messenger
C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\Pager\StoredIM

 

If you can still get into your email your password must not have been changed, try getting into the Java chat through yahoo.com. Just do what BJ says and if that doesn't work then uninstall yahoo messenger and reinstall. Yahoo is just dumb lately anyway

Go into Control Panel, run Add/Remove Programs and uninstall everything Yahoo!

Navigate to and delete the folder C:\Program Files\Yahoo! Messenger

Download, and install Yahoo! Messenger, see if problems remains.

 

Yes... its still there
