    :confused Hi,

I'm getting a message with the SAs, I downloaded the last update on 06/19 And I keep getting 2 finds of the Trojan.Agent/Gen-MSFake
Which happens to be one of the updates of the last version ( http://www.superantispyware.com/definitions.html Database Version 3949 - 06-19-2009 )
SAS Finds the threat and "repairs" it, but after restarting and re-scanning I keep getting the same find.
I have found on a SAS Forum thread (http://forums.superantispyware.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3106) that this might be a false positive, but I wanted to see if you guys have heard anything or have had the same issue with the update of SAS.

I'm attaching the logs for SAS; MAB and MG Tools. Since I changed the msconfig to run "normal" for the tools I cannot run the combofix; When I had run the combofix in earlier checks I deactivate the avira scan that cannot be disabled by Admin services. Even when "disabled" stills run if is not deactivated by msconfig.
Just to let you know, why is not in the attachments.
I can run it, just won't be by the "normal start"

Thanks for your support. I do use a lot this lap Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Regards,

    Yan HM

You are out of date with your version of SUPERAntiSpyware which may explain the reason for the false detection of C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCRT.DLL as a trojan. It is not detected on my system as a problem. So unless yours is really infected, it is not a valid detection. I suggest you restore it from the quarantine if you have already deleted it and then do the below to get properly updated.

    • Please uninstall your current version (this is necessary).
    • Then download this SUPERAntiSpyware
    • Install this new version. It may tell you that you need to reboot to complete the installation. You must reboot at this time.
    • After the reboot, run SUPERAntiSpyware and immediately click the Check for Updates button to get more updates for the database.
    • Now run a new full scan of your system. And attach this new log.

    You're welcome.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time for our final instructions.

    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significan amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (=This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Delete the C:\combofix folder and the C:\QooBox folders from combofix (if it exists and note that you may need to substitute a different drive letter than C: if you have Windows installed on a different drive.)
    4. Also delete the below two files that are left behind by ComboFix, some scanners falsely detect these as problems which they are not:
      • C:\WINDOWS\NirCmd.exe
      • C:\WINDOWS\PEV.exe
    5. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    9. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
