    Hi folks, new member here.

I am running XP home on a Vaio laptop, but specifically need Microsoft IIS running for some active server page development. XP Home sadly seems not to be able to run IIS and I guess that I need to either put the laptop to XP Pro, or find something which is 100% compatible with IIS and hope the client does not notice. So, I have 2 questions

    1) Is the upgrade from XP Home to XP Pro painless or are there any obvious pitfalls

    2) Can anyone recommend a cheap (free :) ), compatible web server that I could download.

    Thanks folks

You might want to check out apache. I'm certain that it supports ASP. I had it running on XP Home, too. Although, it seems very odd to me that IIS wouldn't work on XP Home....

    Check out http://www.apache.org
